Getting here
- Address
- Höfðabyggð A 11, 607 Fnjóskadalur
- From Akureyri
- Drive towards Húsavík through Vaðlaheiðargöng. Turn right towards Lundskógur immediately after the tunnel.
- Tunnel toll
- Vaðlaheiðargöng is a toll road. Pay by card at the self-service kiosks on either side of the tunnel, or online at veggjald.is up to 24 hours before or after you drive through. Unpaid, the bill goes to the vehicle’s owner, which for a rental car is the rental company, and most rental companies then charge it to you with a sizeable fee on top.
- Final approach
- The house and its access road are new and do not yet appear on Google Maps, and Google’s route to our map pin takes a wrong turn on the last stretch. Please follow the written directions in your arrival message instead.
- Winter
- Lundskógur has a winter snow-clearing service.

Striking architecture, designed for the landscape
Dark larch, black aluminium and concrete give the house a bold, contemporary character, while floor-to-ceiling windows pull the surrounding landscape into every room. A long concrete terrace extends the living space outdoors, with a covered walkway creating a sheltered arrival in any weather.
A little further from home
Akureyri, Goðafoss, Lake Mývatn and Húsavík can all be visited on a day out from Lundskógur.
